About

Hi! I’m Susan.  I’m a Mommy to two young children (Sophie is 8 and Max is 5).  And I have a wonderful husband, who is every bit as busy as I am.

I started Our Family Eats because I have so many people who think they don’t have the time to cook meals at home. Or worse, they think they don’t know how to cook.  I hope to change the perception that the only way to get a meal on the table fast is by going through the drive thru.

A few years ago my passion for learning about food and nutrition was re-ignited when we learned we were facing a diagnosis of ADHD for my daughter.  Her behavior was certainly out of control, and both my husband and I were exhausted from the daily war of wills.  I was beginning to worry about her self-esteem.  I had a hunch that there was something causing this behavior.  I wanted to see if there was a natural way to treat this problem instead of turning to medication.  Being a food blogger naturally led me to begin researching how diet could affect behavior.  That research convinced me that artificial ingredients were to blame for my daughter’s uncontrollable behavior.  So long story short, I cut out artificial ingredients and within two days (yes, TWO days) I had my beautiful, loving, helpful daughter back.  (For the full story, go here to read my article for Circle of Moms.)  The change was nothing less than miraculous. And I’ve gotten email after email from parents who have used my ADHD Diet Plan and have seen the exact same results I have.

Eating a healthy, all natural diet is not nearly as hard as you might think.  If our family can do this, believe me, yours can too.  All of my recipes use wholesome, 100% natural ingredients, and each one is taste tested by the pickiest critics around – my kids.  From breakfasts to dinner to snacks, even healthy desserts – you can find it all here, along with as much encouragement as you can stand.

I’m always just an email away if you have any questions – contact.ourfamilyeats {at} gmail {dot} com.

Thanks for visiting!

Disclaimer:  I am not a medical professional, and cannot legally diagnose, treat, or cure ADHD.  I am simply a Mom who saw dramatic improvement in my daughter’s symptoms when we eliminated artificial ingredients from our diet.  I’ve heard from countless other families who have seen the same results we did by following the steps I used.  I’d love nothing more than help you too.
