Giveaway – Lunch tote and water bottle

This Giveaway is now closed – the winner is Kelly A.  Congratulations!  You will love your new bag!

Did you resolve to eat healthier this year?  Or to save money?  I have a giveaway can help you do both!  I’ve found that if you want to stick to an all natural diet, packing your own lunch is essential.  It also helps when you’re trying to lose a few pounds as well, since you can control the amount of each ingredient used. And if you compare making your own lunch versus purchasing a lunch each day at a cafe, the savings add up fast.

Everyone in our family takes their lunch with them each day, which means I’ve tested many lunch boxes, bags, and totes.  This one from Built 2 (a division of Built NY) is my personal favorite.  It’s very durable, it’s insulated, and has plenty of room, even for my oddly shaped, re-purposed containers.  It’s also super cute, which is a big plus in my book.

So, to help you in your endeavors to pack more healthy lunches, I’m giving away this lunch tote from Built 2, which also includes a very handy water bottle holder, along with a stainless steel water bottle (from Target).  The bottle holder is great for the kids lunches because it attaches to the bag, keeping everything neatly together.  It also attaches nicely to purses, diaper bags, and strollers so your water is always within reach.

To enter the giveway:

1.  Leave a comment below sharing your favorite lunch on the go idea.

2. Like Our Family Eats on Facebook, then leave a comment telling me that you did.

3. Tweet about the giveaway – be sure to add @ourfamilyeats in your tweet, then leave a comment telling me that you did.

Each of those will earn you one chance to win, up to three chances.  Please leave a separate comment for each entry in order for them to be counted as separate entries.  This giveaway will end on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 10:00 pm CST.  The winner will be announced on Tuesday, January 24, 2012.  This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only (sorry).

(I am not affiliated with Built NY in any way.  I just love these lunch totes and thought you would too.)

One of my kids’ favorite lunches is homemade “lunchables”. We use whole grain crackers, sharp cheddar or mozzarella cheese cut into bite size slices, turkey or ham, and fresh veggies with homemade ranch dip.

  5. Samina says:

I’ve been making a concerted effort to take leftovers from home for lunch to the office. My husband & I are in practice together, so I’m even more concious about our eating healthy that I might otherwise be.

Fun shaped sandwiches with sprouted seed bread and almond butter

For me- grilled chicken salads. I grill extra breasts when I’m making fajitas or something else with chicken and keep them frozen in slices so I can grab a few for my lunch.

  14. Mama Mia says:

My favorite on-the-go lunch is raw veggies and potato chips. If I can stuff them in a pita, that’s even better.

My daughter will not do sandwiches, so I roll up ham or turkey and put tooth picks in it. I keep frozen homemade ginger snap cookies in the freezer and slip one into her lunch every now and again for a special treat.

  19. Barb K. says:

Favorite on the go lunch for me is left overs heated quickly in the microwave. Saves defrost time and the food is already prepared. So simple when time is short.

Favorite on the go lunch would be sandwiches. Not any spectacular and new but I love sandwiches. You can put loads of good stuff between two pieces of bread and eat it while walking without hurting myself too much! Thanks for the giveaway!

  29. Misty Miskimen says:

I have made several of your recipes for dinner, so leftovers are certainly my go-to for a quick lunch on the go. I also do a lot of wraps – once a week we roast a whole chicken, this gives me plenty of meat for wraps all week and just vary the fillings.

  30. Samantha says:

It’s an oldie but a goodie…classic peanut butter and jelly. Granted, I bake my own bread and use sugar free and organic PB and local, sugar free jelly. Another favorite is PB and honey. My husband saw it called an “Amish power bar” on a hiking blog, and we’ve called them that ever since!

  31. Jen says:

So cute. I bring leftovers everyday for lunch so this would add some pizzazz!

  32. Christina says:

Our favorite on the go lunch is brown bag burritos! Homemade beef, bean and cheese burritos. I make a large batch and freeze them. Then we pull them out as we want to eat them.

My favorite go-to healthy lunch recently has become a BIG salad topped with grilled chicken, fresh blueberries, grated feta cheese and a splash of raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I’ve also been packing leftovers to reheat at work. I’m thankful to have a nice work kitchen with a fridge, toaster oven and microwave.
