The first grocery bag menu is ready! So many of you wanted this feature so I hope it makes your days a little easier. I tried to make this a week of quick and easy, family pleasing meals. I used your comments to decide which meals should be included, so keep the feedback coming! Let me know how this worked for you – since this is a new feature I’m sure there will be tweaks needed to make it easy for everyone to use. You can send suggestions to contact.ourfamilyeats@gmail.com. If this menu isn’t your thing, no worries, more weeks are coming. Eventually we’ll have enough weeks that you could plan a whole month of dinners!
Easy Cheesy Baked Ziti
Black Bean Quesadillas (or chicken quesadillas)
Chicken Bruschetta Bake
Roast Beef Sliders
Spaghetti a la Carbonara
Grocery List
From the Bakery/Deli:
Slider Rolls
1 lb roast beef, sliced thin
6 slices Provolone cheese
Produce:
1 bunch flat leaf parsley
1 head of garlic
1 small white onion (optional for the sliders)
Dry Grocery:
spaghetti
Ziti
1 jar Alfredo sauce
1 jar spaghetti sauce
14 oz diced tomatoes
2 cans black beans
small jar of salsa
Stove Top stuffing for chicken
flour tortillas
Meat:
1 1/2 pounds of chicken
1 pound ground beef
1 package thick cut bacon
Dairy/Refrigerated:
3 cups mozzarella cheese (you can purchase one 16 oz and one 8 oz package to get 3 cups)
1 package shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz sour cream
Parmesan cheese
eggs
Check your pantry for these items, or purchase:
dried basil
prepared horseradish
light mayonnaise
dijon or yellow mustard
Worcestershire sauce
olive oil
butter
Note: If you want to make the chicken version of the quesadillas, just purchase 2 pounds of chicken rather than the 1 1/2 called for in the list. When you make the Chicken Bruschetta Bake, bake the extra chicken breasts at the same time and refrigerate. When you’re ready to make the quesadillas, just shred them and add to the recipe at the same time as the beans.
That’s all you need for a week of great dinners! Happy cooking!
