In my opinion nothing goes better with steaks than a side of mushrooms.  They just compliment one another so well.  This is a super easy recipe that really brings out the best flavor in any mushroom you want to use.  I like that it’s so simple because it can be tough to grill steaks outside and watch whatever you’re cooking on the stove at the same time.  This recipe is really foolproof – undercooked or overcooked, they still taste fabulous.

Steakside Mushrooms

1 large package of mushrooms, 16 ounces
1/8 cup low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add mushrooms, soy sauce, pepper, and thyme if using.  Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally for about 8-10 minutes, until mushrooms are soft.
